Windstar Cruises will expand the experiences available to its Alaska travelers through the new Signature Expeditions program.
Signature Expeditions adds context to cruises by bundling interactive activities on the ship and on shore. Headlined by an expedition team that includes geologists, glaciologists, marine biologists and others, the experiences include complimentary enrichment classes, presentations and one-on-one discussions with outdoor professionals during aboard the vessel.
Guests can then pair those lessons with optional small-group excursions available throughout their Alaska journey. Expedition team members will lead interpretive walks, kayaking trips, Zodiac tours and other outings that build on information they’ve shared on the ship.
Signature Expeditions offerings will be introduced on Windstar’s new Alaska itineraries that begin in May. Prices for the optional add-ons range from $40 to $170 per experience. Capt. James Griffiths, who Griffiths joined Windstar in 2014, will oversee Signature Expeditions programs.
